Welcome, Leigh. Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
An American living in Canada. Chocolate snob. Recovering yo-yo dieter. Devoted mom and wife, blessed with a brilliantly witty daughter and unintentionally humorous husband. My wacky family feed my creativity and fuel my passion. Most nights, you will find me either curled up with a great book or, more often, sitting at my computer, tapping out the countless visions in my head.

To me, there’s nothing better in a narrative than perfectly flawed but strong characters and intense romance that is sexy, deep, and sensual. Mm…I liken such stories to a box of Godiva. Decadent and delicious! You can’t stop at just one. In fact, I’m now hard at work on my next novel—A Naked Beauty, the conclusion to Fat Girl

Please tell us about your current release.
Dee is a successful children’s attorney. On the surface her life is together. But it’s built on a shaky foundation of lies, secrets and insecurities. A fact she quickly discovers when Micah Peters walks through her office door and cracks those carefully concealed fissures wide open.

Fat Girl is a sexy romance about the tumultuous and passionate relationship between former lovers and the family ties that re-connect them. But it is also the story of a woman’s journey to find what we all want and need, unconditional love and self-acceptance.

What inspired you to write this book?
Growing up with insecurities about my body and hearing how self-critical women were about theirs, a heroine struggling with the same for my debut novel was a natural. And since I adore steamy romance and complex characters that are strong, yet vulnerable and beautifully flawed, I was inspired to combine all those aspects into a provocative love story.

Excerpt:

What exciting story are you working on next?
A Naked Beauty, the conclusion to Fat Girl. There will be a total of 4 books in the Perfectly Imperfect series. The first two are Dee and Micah’s story. The next two will feature Dee’s friends: Jordyn then Lexie.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
The day I published Fat Girl. However, I knew I wanted to write since I was ten or eleven and read Are you there, God? It’s me, Margaret by the amazing and talented Judy Blume. I finally did it!

Do you write full-time? If so, what's your workday like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I am fortunate enough to be self-employed as a business change consultant, which allows me some freedom to write more often than if I had a 9-5 corporate job. I enjoy that work, but writing is my passion.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Water is my muse. Whenever I am spinning or stuck, I wash my hands, take a shower, walk by the lake (when it’s not freezing here in Toronto). Not sure why water clears my head, but it does!

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Before I caught the writing bug, I wanted to be the lead singer of an all girl group. Too bad I couldn’t sing that well. Something I sadly discovered when my dad recorded me belting my heart out to “Ben” by Michael Jackson. Lol.

Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
I’d like to share a heart-felt thank you for all the interest and positive response. Writing Fat Girl affirmed my dream and gave my creative outlet purpose. When women reach out and tell me that they related to Dee and found a little inspiration among the pages, I am truly humbled.

I like the idea of a woman being loved no matter what her size. Too often, we feel we have to earn love by being a certain size.

Great interview

Such a sad truth, Morgan. Just as important as being loved by someone unconditionally, is learning to love ourselves, no matter what the size. That's the path Dee's on...one I can relate to. Thanks for stopping by and posting. ~ Leigh
