Blurb:
Annie O’Malley’s dream of owning a secondhand
bookstore in tight-knit Audubon Springs is coming true. Still reeling from her
parents’ sudden deaths, she believes that signs or messages can be found within
the pages of books. She loves her job and has made plenty of friends but longs
for the acceptance only love and a family can provide.
Tony Iuliano is there to fix the wiring in her
shop. He doesn’t believe in fate, magic, or the power of a good book. All this
combined with his sexy-as-sin presence and all-knowing attitude infuriates
Annie. The quirky bookworm intrigues him enough to accept her bet to read a
book from her shop. When he discovers a stack of fifty-year-old love letters in
the book, he wants to leave the past alone, but seeing it as a sign, Annie
challenges him to read the letters and search for the long-lost lovers or lose
the bet.
While shaking the dust off several ill-fated
romances and fighting their attraction at every turn, the pair soon become the
town gossip daily special. If they can stop arguing long enough, they may just
discover this particular sign was meant for them all along.
Excerpt:
After you read the book it I’ll let you watch the movie.”
“You’ll let me,
will you?” He took a step closer placing his hand on the top shelf beside her
when the urge to touch her, or any number of elicit, carnal acts not done
between friends took root.
“Watching the movie first will ruin it for you. I want you
to form your own opinion of Mr. Knightly.” She sounded a bit breathless to his
ears.
“What’s your opinion of him, Annie? Don’t I get to know
since you say I’m like him?” he asked in the voice he used to seduce women. He
didn’t want to seduce or plant any seeds of fancy into her outrageous creative
mind. Even so, he couldn’t turn off this desire to move closer for a touch, or
God help him, a taste. Annie O’Malley – the woman he’d no doubt want to
throttle after their meeting with Eddie Green.
“Once you’ve read the book, I’d be happy to share it with
you.” Her smile faded into uncertainty while her pulse quickened at her throat.
He imagined running his tongue over that spot. Eyes widening, her lips parted
on an, oh, as if waiting. She
recognized it too, this surprising attraction. Did she want to ignore it as
much as he did?
Since this was unchartered territory, he stepped back,
abruptly breaking the connection. Her eyebrows drew together and one hand flew
up in question when a knock sounded at the door.
“Show time,” she said weakly, and started for the door. “Do
you still want to read the book?” she asked without looking back.
“I said I did, didn’t I?”
“I don’t know. You seem indecisive at the moment.”

Thank you for featuring Secondhand Romance during its $.99 promotion sale.
I love this moment between Annie and Tony. They have never really gotten along and he's shocked by his attraction to the little book worm. Classic opposites attract.
It's got me wondering about everyone's favorite opposites attracts books or movies.
Hahahaha, I just checked my kindle. I downloaded Return to Audubon Springs a couple of months ago when it was a bookgorilla deal. I 1-clicked Secondhand Romance so now I'm set!
