Interview with mystery novelist Denise Robbins

Today's guest is techno-thriller author Denise Robbins. She's giving us some insight her her novel Phish NET Stalkings.

Bio:
High-tech becomes high-risk in Denise Robbins' novels. The New Hampshire-based author uses two decades of experience in computers to explore the killer possibilities in technology. Denise integrates her knowledge of computers and technology along with secrets, intrigue, suspense, and even a little romance into all of her techno-romantic thriller novels. Readers and reviewers agree Denise writes stories that will keep you at the edge of your seat and clamoring for more.
Welcome, Denise. Please tell us about your current release, Phish NET Stalkings.
When Jane East is looking for Mr. Right through an online dating service, she receives an e-card and unknowingly installs phishing software onto her computer. Along comes Cooper Chance, ex-FBI cybercrime specialist turned small-town cop, who helps her track the cyber phishing scammer, while she helps in his investigation of a man who attacks women using the online dating service.
What inspired you to write this book?
Have you ever received a phishing e-mail? One of those little e-mails that invade your privacy and try to steal your information? I have. I’ve been hacked. I’ve had my information stolen and it was not pretty. Now I’ve learned and wanted to use that experience in a novel.

What exciting story are you working on next?
I just started my seventh novel and haven’t worked out all the details yet, but suffice it to say, it will have a heroine from Sweetwater, Texas who has seen it all thanks to spending several years as a member of an elite military group known as Delta Force.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
The first time a reader sent me an email telling me how much she enjoyed my first novel. That’s when I knew I was a writer.

Do you write full-time? If so, what's your work day like?  If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I wish I was a full-time writer. Alas, I am a lowly software development manager in my day job. I find time to write in the evening on a rare occasion, but I dedicate my Sundays to my writing muse and letting her guide me through my writing.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
My best writing occurs after I have had a Panera cinnamon roll and a Mountain Dew at seven in the morning on Sunday. Don’t ask me why. Maybe it’s the sugar rush, maybe it’s that there’s no waitress asking me if I need anything else, or maybe it’s the hustle and bustle of all the restaurant guests. All I know is it works!

That's definitely a different answer! :)

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
My original goal was to be a doctor. I had a blood pressure cuff and a stethoscope. I was ready! Then I broke my leg. That cured me of that desire.

Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
I hope you enjoy Phish NET Stalkings and send me a note letting me know what you thought. Happy reading!

Thanks for stopping by today, Denise.
