Blog tour stop with Yvonne Perry

I am participating in a 28-day virtual tour for a new book titled Whose Stuff Is This? Finding Freedom from the Thoughts, Feelings, and Energy of Those Around You written by Yvonne Perry. The book offers empowering, proactive techniques to help empathic people manage energy and information overload coming from the collective unconsciousness of Earth. See http://whosestuffisthis.com for details.

Yesterday, Yvonne visited Soulmate Coach Crystal. Today, she is my guest blogger. I hope you enjoy the interview.

Bio: Yvonne Perry is a metaphysical author, teacher, and speaker. A graduate of American Institute of Holistic Theology, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Metaphysics. For forty years, Yvonne was enmeshed with the fundamental dogma of religion and lived according to the interpretation of the Bible that her family, society, and church leaders passed down to her. Before she had a label to put on her empathetic ability, she called herself an intercessor carrying the burdens of others to the throne of grace. While praying for others she empathically took on their suffering until it severely challenged her emotional and physical health. Her latest book tells how she recovered and shares spiritual practices to help energy-sensitive people clear their energy field, raise their vibration, set boundaries, and stay grounded in Spirit.

Yvonne, please tell us about your current release.
Whose Stuff Is This? Finding Freedom from the Thoughts, Feelings, and Energy of Those Around You is a guidebook for empathic people who have been unknowingly carrying energetic burdens that belong to someone else. This book provides . . .

* Tips to distinguish your personal energy from another person’s
* Practices for clearing your energy field and raising your own vibration
* Ways to shield yourself from the detrimental energy of others
* How to have compassion without allowing external energy to wear you out
* A fresh perspective on the psychological aspect of empathy and intuition
* How to use your intuitive ability as a tool for guidance without paying a personal price

With more than two dozen proven and effective ways to clear your energy field of external clutter, this guide employs empowering, proactive techniques to manage your personal energy and that coming to you from other sources. The book also contains a list of resources that includes books, classes and groups, practitioners, quizzes and tests, radio shows, videos, CDs, and DVDs to help empaths take the next step in developing their intuition.

The electronic version of my book is now in Amazon's Kindle Store where it may be downloaded to Kindle Readers, iPads, iPhones, and other digital book readers. The printed book is set to release in mid-February. Learn more at http://whosestuffisthis.blogspot.com/

What inspired you to write this book?
Like most empathic people, I have always wanted to help others avoid suffering. As strange as this may sound, the one way empaths do this is by taking on the problems of others and suffering on their behalf—kind of like a surrogate for affliction. The other person feels better, but the empath feels horrible.

Many compassionate people do not understand how to set energetic boundaries; they unknowingly pick up energy, emotions, feelings, and illness from their environment and the collective unconscious. Over the past ten years, I’ve researched and tried all kinds of things to alleviate empathy fatigue. There are all kinds of energy-related treatments—herbal remedies, visualizations, meditations, prayers, etc.—that can assist an empathic person on a path to emotional maturity (using the gift of empathy wisely without paying a personal price).

Since writing is my forte, I started writing a blog about some of the spiritual practices and protection tips that I use to keep my energy field clear and balance my chakras. A psychotherapist friend of mine, Dr. Caron Goode, suggested I put this information into a guidebook that could be used by energy-sensitive people to set boundaries and manage the overload of energy they absorb. Caron and I feel there is a real need for this material. She provided insight on the psychological aspect of empathy and I wrote about my personal journey through the empath wilderness and how I learned to psychically protect myself as I moved toward wholeness.

What exciting story are you working on next?
I plan to dedicate the next six months to marketing this book before I start my next project. It will be another spiritual self-help book for walk-ins/soul exchanges. You’ve heard of pen names, right? This book will be written under my soul name: LavendarRose.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
In 2003, when I started my company, Writers in the Sky Creative Writing Services. I loved writing when I was a child and teenager, but it did not occur to me then that I would one day be an author, much less a freelance writer. The dream of being an author began in 1995 when I started saving emails I was writing to friends. They kept telling me I should write a book, so I did. It wasn’t published until 2004, the year after I began my freelance writing business.

Do you write full-time? If so, what's your work day like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I write full time — either for clients or my own books, blogs, articles, etc. I set my schedule and spend about seven hours a day Monday through Friday on these projects. Since I work from home, I take a lot of breaks to stretch, exercise, swap a load of laundry, walk the dog, interact on Facebook, etc. I also enjoy doing arts and crafts (crocheting, sewing, painting), and may take an entire day off to play with my grandkids. Therefore, I am very selective about the clients I work with in the metaphysical, self-help, alternative health, and spirituality genres.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I never get writer’s block. There is always more writing waiting to be done. If I don’t want to work on a particular project one day, I simply switch to another one.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a wife and a mother while I was still a teenager young enough to enjoy kids and not too old to be able to relate to them and their needs. I made that goal when I married for the first time at age 17 and had a son three weeks before I turned twenty.

Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
Besides being a writer, I am also fulfilling a divine mission to present the message of oneness. http://weare1inspirit.com/ or WhoseStuffIsThis.com are my spiritual Web sites used for this purpose.

Blog tour interview with author Garasamo Maccagnone

Today I'm welcoming author Garasamo Maccagnone and Writers in the Sky who are on a virtual tour to promote Garasamo's recently released book, St. John of the Midfield.

Let's jump right in with Garasamo's bio:

Born in 1959, Garasamo Maccagnone studied literature and journalism at Macomb College, Wayne State University, and Western Michigan University. Garasamo has enjoyed writing since the age of sixteen. He is inspired by the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, John Dos Passos, and Jack London, and is currently working on his next book. Garasamo has owned a soccer club and coached and trained players for over twenty years. He lives with his wife, Vicki, and his three children in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Please tell us about your current release.
St. John of the Midfield tells the story of Bobo Stoikov, a former Bulgarian soccer player who escapes communist oppression. The story is told through the eyes of Mario Santini, a father on Bobo's team, and the son of a crime family boss. Mario, who wants to escape the world his father has created, ends up giving the nod that sets the tragic ending in motion. As he must protect his son from the sinister Sonny Christopher, Mario does what he has to in order to protect his son from being harmed, on the field, and off.

What inspired you to write this book?
It took ten years. I coached with a man named Rocco Mitkov for over fifteen years. Some of what he told me about his escape from Bulgaria inspired this. From there, it was all my imagination.

What exciting story are you working on next?
The title of my next piece is, The Sorrows of Pebble Creek. The story is about the murder of a noted Chaldean acquaintance of the narrator's, who is cut down by assassins of Uday Hussein. The story is told after the funeral, and as the author tries to uncover a mystery involving his assassinated friend's family, the narrator uncovers his true feelings for his ex-wife and estranged family.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
The first time I sold a book to a non family member.

Do you write full-time? If so, what's your work day like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I write daily. By doing so, it keeps you in a rhythm. It also keeps me sharp at the craft of creating meaningful sentences. When I wrote St. John of the Midfield, most of it was done between 2am and 5am. With my latest piece, I'm writing more in the 10am to 2pm time slot. Who can figure these things out?

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
The entire story is written in my head first. I can actually see the words in the sentences in my mind's eye. Many times, while on the road, my wife will look at me while she's driving and say, “You're writing, aren't you?” She can tell by the look on my face, and of course, how quiet I get, that I'm typing sentences in my head. She knows to leave me alone.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a baseball player. With three brothers and a bunch of neighborhood boys all around the same age, we always had good numbers to start a baseball game. If we weren't playing in the streets, or stick ball in the back yards, we rode our bikes to the sandlots behind Eisenhower Elementary School and played until dark.
I ended up playing in college. I thought about pursuing a professional career, but then I met a beautiful girl who told me that if I married her we'd be together forever. It's been thirty years so I think I made the right decision.

Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
St. John of the Midfield can be purchased through this link.

Included in my next release will be four additional stories entitled, The Note Giver, Sentiments of Blue, The Conversion, and Holy Thursday.

My other written works include, The Affliction of Dreams, a collection of short stories and poetry, The Suburban Dragon, a children's book, and For the Love of St. Nick, an illustrated short story about two boys who seek the help of St. Nick after the tragic loss of their mother.

I also want to thank you for taking the time to interview me.

You're quite welcome. Best of luck with your tour!

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate author Garasamo Maccagnone and his WITS virtual tour. Tomorrow, December 23, 2010, day eight, Penny Lockwood Ehrenkranz will host an excerpt from St. John of the Midfield and a Q&A written interview. Follow this blogger on Twitter: @pennyehrenkranz. Interview with author Tisha Morris - Feng Shui Blog Tour

Today I welcome Tisha Morris to Reviews and Interviews. Tisha is a certified life coach, feng shui consultant, energy healer, and author. Her passion is healing spaces by blending traditional feng shui techniques and interior design aesthetics with healing energy. In doing so, not only does the space undergo a transformation, but all those who occupy and encounter the space as well.

Tisha, welcome to Reviews and Interviews as part of your virtual book tour for 27 Things to Feng Shui Your Home.

Please tell us about your current release.
The title is 27 Things to Feng Shui Your Home. It is inspired by a Chinese proverb that says, “If you want to change your life, move 27 things in your home.” This proverb speaks to the power of just how interrelated our energy is with the energy of our home.

I selected the 27 things that I have seen make the most impact on either me or my clients, ranging from aspects of de-cluttering to traditional feng shui techniques. The 27 things are arranged in a logical order for someone who feels overwhelmed and doesn’t know where to begin with improving their home. That being said, anyone can pick up the book, flip to a page, and jump in.

What inspired you to write this book?
For my very first Feng Shui workshop, I prepared endlessly and provided my participants with tons of great information and inspiration. At the very end, one woman raised her hand and said, “What should we do first?” I thought that was such a great question and it became the cornerstone of my future workshops and then the inspiration for this book. Many of us are overwhelmed with where to begin. I wanted this book to be an easy, logical, and organized way to understand such a right-brain concept to apply it in their home without being overwhelmed.

What kind of research do you do to make your book realistic?
The information in my book came together through a hodgepodge of resources – from my experiences with clients to my background in interior design and knowledge of feng shui. I do reference several of my favorite feng shui authors as well. Like most people in service-related businesses, you learn more from your clients than anyone. I have therefore used several of my clients’ stories as examples in the book.

Did anything in the writing of this book come as a surprise to you?
I had been working on a different feng shui book for years and then out of nowhere 27 Things manifested. So many times we put a lot of energy into something. It comes back to us, but in a completely different form and even better than we could have imagined. With 27 Things, it was so effortless that I don’t really even remember writing it. I do remember becoming quite a fixture at my local coffee shop. Then six months later when I picked up the advanced copy to read it, I thought, “Wow, this is really good.”

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was in 8th grade, I wanted to be a writer. I later decided that becoming an attorney would be the best way to give me writing credentials while making a decent living. What I didn’t plan on was . . . not liking the practice of law. So for the ten years following my first law job, I went on a self-discovery journey -- from interior design school to teaching yoga -- to figure out what I really wanted to do from my heart instead of my head. Now those ten years have come full circle, resulting in all aspects of myself – the attorney, the interior designer, the energy healer, and the author – coming together as part of my life purpose.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Honestly, I’m not sure that I consider myself a writer even now. I think of myself as a healer and use books as one of my mediums in which to reach people. We all have different strengths through which we express ourselves and to reach an audience. For me, and at least for now, it is through the written word.

Do you write full-time? If so, what’s your work day like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
Writing provides a great mix to my typical work day. I tend to get bored easily so my typical day usually involves a blend of seeing clients, blogging, graphic design, networking, and meditation. I wish I could say that I have a structured writing time, but being a moody Cancer, the weather seems to dictate my writing schedule more than anything else. Unless, of course, there is a deadline looming!

Thank you so much for your time. Best wishes with your book and thank you for talking about feng shui.
