Today's guest is Christian fiction author M. Ann Ricks. She's touring her newest novel, The Shift.
Here's her schedule while she's touring with Write Now Literary Book Tour.
Bio:
M. Ann Ricks,
(Melissa Ann), is a Christian fiction novelist. She is a graduate of Rider
University and formerly a national accounts insurance representative. Using
Jesus Christ as her example as He shared many parables, M. Ann creates stories
with fictional characters that contend with real life issues and inserts the
Word of God to communicate the genuine and unfailing love of God while making it
abundantly clear that Jesus is the ONLY answer.
M. Ann is
honored to be used by God to spread His message with the stories she creates
with the leading of the Holy Spirit, knowing that He will provide her with
stories and the insight as well as the words that will lift up the name of
Jesus as He promised that if He is lifted up, He will draw all men to Him.
M. Ann is
also what one may consider a motivational/inspirational speaker but she prefers
the term, “Godspirational” as one may only be truly inspired, transformed and
receive true revelation when hearing the uncompromised word of God! M. Ann is
the author of Awesome Wonder: The Gift of
Remembrance, The Son, The Blood Done Signed My Name, and now, The Shift.
Welcome, M. Ann. Please tell us about
your current release, The Shift.
There is a sense of urgency in the atmosphere as
God is transitioning what the world has deemed impossible and unbelievable into
the possible and the believable. Pastor Douglass and his family have been
chosen for such a supernatural transition but because of the dense fog of
deception that seems to surround them, some in the Douglass family have created
their own beliefs, fabricating their own sense of self; negating the truth,
God’s truth, even when truth is staring them in the face. They, like many,
are living lives devoid of the knowledge of who they really are and robbing
themselves and those they love of their true identity and freedom. Deeply
embedded lies from enemy have blinded eyes, impaired hearing and hardened
hearts and Angels from the army of God have been deployed. Dreams, supernatural
revelation and actual attacks from man's ultimate foe will expose all and
confirm God’s plan for Xion, Veronica, Zeborah, Bo and Pastor Douglas. Can they
handle the truth and surrender? The lives of the Douglass family will never be
the same and neither will you, because of The
Shift!"
What inspired you to write this book?
It’s time for the eyes and hearts of the hurt and
confused to be opened so that they can truly experience the freedom and power
that being a true and unapologetic follower of Christ affords. So many are
believing the lie of the enemy. Although stating that they are Christians, many
are still in bondage. They have yet to be delivered from fear, shame, guilt and
even rebellion. No one is getting to the root of the matter and saying what God
says. We are tiptoeing. We have shut our mouths because many are afraid to
consult their creator. We must consult the word of God. So many need to find
out who they are instead of letting the world or man define them. The truth is,
only GOD can define who we are and only then can we be who God has purposed us
to be.
What exciting story are you working on
next?
My fifth
novel is titled, Not Even Death!
When did you first consider yourself a
writer?
I
considered myself a writer when my first novel, Awesome Wonder; The Gift of Remembrance was published in 2007. I
felt I’d finally earned the moniker.
Do you write full-time? If
so, what's your work day like? If
not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I write
full time but am not a full time writer. My day is chock full of meetings and
sometimes exercise classes as I am a Group Insurance Benefits Specialist and a
part time Group Exercise Instructor. I find time when the house is quiet and
the Holy Spirit leads me to my office. Crazily enough, He always, makes it easy
for me to steal away to fellowship with Him as He downloads a new idea or
premise.
What would you say is your interesting
writing quirk?
I love the
use of “elite” English. The form of English used during the 17th and
latter 18th centuries in Europe and parts of Northern America. The
way they used vocabulary was so intriguingly intellectual. Reading and hearing
the prose is elevating! Words are a joy!
As a child, what did you want to be
when you grew up?
I wanted to
be a newscaster….
Anything additional you want to share
with the readers? I
so appreciate the readers taking the time to read this interview! I feel
incredibly BLESSED! Thanks to you all! I consider it an honor to write for Jesus
the Christ as each kind word, e-mail and communication describing how lives
have been changed is confirmation that He had YOU on His mind when He breathed
the words of each novel into my spirit! Continue to pray for me as I pray for
you!
