Kare...Rita and Lori, thanks for stopping by today.

Karen, I was stuck with Ruben's name because that's was his name was in the first book, The Secrets on Forest Bend. Why I picked it then, I'm not sure. Tessa's name was originally Miranda, but that gave me Miranda, Mamacita, and Molly all in the cabin together and that got confusing.

So I couldn't have a name that started with M, or R (Ruben, Ramona, and Remy.) I didn't want an A or a J, (Adam and Jillian.) I wanted a name that was somewhat Hispanic but not overly. I always thought the name Tessa was pretty and that's the one I ended up with.

As for naming Remy, he's half Jewish and half Cajun. I always liked the juxtaposition of names that don't match so I Goolged Cajun male names and liked Remy best, so he became Remy Steinberg. His story is due out in December, Voodoo on Bayou Lafonte.

Every writer has uses a different system, but that's how I came up with Ruben and Tessa for this book.Susan Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15752205335959990328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8349236360110556646.post-14852911152844071982013-09-09T15:30:00.486-04:002013-09-09T15:30:00.486-04:00I've often wondered how an author comes up wit...I've often wondered how an author comes up with the names for their characters.
